Of all the leggings researched and tested, this was hands-down my favorite pair! The mid-weight fleece lining works well for a variety of temperatures, they don’t slip or fall down, and there’s even an adjustable drawstring inside the waistband. The sweat-wicking, four-way stretch fabric is so comfortable it actually made me want to work out.
If there’s anything negative, it’s that the ankle zips aren’t petite-friendly (I’m 5’2″), but that hasn’t deterred me from wearing them all weekend, every weekend.
Champion Performance Fleece Tights
If simplicity and affordability are more important than having the most fashion-forward (and expensive) leggings on the block, these are your jam. The company’s Warm Control fabric keeps you from freezing without adding extra weight, while the flat seams make chafing a thing of the distant past.
Our editor Bridget Clegg says that “these definitely kept me warm, but weren’t too hot that I couldn’t wear them around my apartment as well.”
Under Armour ColdGear Cozy Leggings
When it comes to value, these UnderArmour leggings can’t be beat! They’re stylish, highly functional for indoor and outdoor workouts, and the quality is right on par with the more expensive pairs. The fleece lining is very thin, so these are a great option when you just need a little more warmth for your walks and runs.
Our site director Jamie Miles took these for a spin and especially loved the back storage pocket. “It doesn’t zip, but my phone sat comfortably inside the back pocket, allowing me to lift hand weights while safely storing my phone. I also loved the design of these leggings!”
