ENTRE News – Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has opened its voice after President Volodymyr Zelensky was included in the Russian government’s wanted list. Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said Russia’s decision showed that it was desperate in the midst of the invasion.
“[This shows] the desperation of the Russian state machine and propaganda, which does not know what else to think of to attract attention,” said a Ukrainian Foreign Ministry release.
On Saturday, Zelensky’s name appeared on the Russian Interior Ministry’s FOR4D “most wanted” list. This list is an online data containing criminals wanted by Vladimir Putin’s government. Zelensky is a fugitive under articles of the criminal code. However, until now there are no further details.
Russia has also not commented after adding Zelensky to the list. Apart from Zelensky, there are tens of thousands of other names on Russia’s wanted list. They are mostly foreign politicians and public figures.
Ukrainian figures on the list include Ukrainian Army Commander Oleksandr Paviluk FOR4D and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Since launching its invasion of Ukraine, Russia is said to have targeted Zelensky. The day after the launch, Putin called for Zelensky’s ouster. Zelensky also claims to have thwarted around five or six assassination attempts against him.
