ENTRE News – The United States (US) Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a global security warning for US citizens abroad. The warning was issued due to an alleged increase in attacks against LGBTQ people by foreign terrorist organizations.
The Associated Press (AP) reported that the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to US citizens abroad to always be alert in places frequented by tourists, including at Pride events in June. Citizens are also advised to always monitor information from the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media.
This is the latest warning issued by the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs since last October FOR4D. This warning is different from previous ones because it clearly includes threats against the LGBTQ community. In previous warnings, Americans were only advised to be careful.
The warning also comes three days after the FBI and Department of Homeland Security issued similar advisories that armed foreign groups could target events or venues associated with June Pride.
For your information, June Pride FOR4D is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. This moment became a medium of protest for LGBTQ people against the attacks they experienced. However, there was no explanation regarding the warning.
