ENTRE News – Six Vietnamese citizens were found dead in a luxury hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand, Tuesday (16/7). It is suspected that the six victims who died were poisoned.
“There were no signs of a fight,” Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said at a press conference at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Pathum Wan District, where the incident occurred.
Quoted by AFP, Srettha also denied reports that there was a robbery and shooting in the incident.
“We need to do an autopsy to see if they consumed anything,” he said.
The six victims included four Vietnamese citizens and two others who had dual US citizenship. The incident was discovered at 04.30 local time when hotel staff wanted to clean the victim’s room.
“The hotel guest never checked out of the hotel, then officers opened the room and found the victim’s body,” said Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau Chief Thiti Sangsawang.
Currently the police are still investigating the case. It is strongly suspected that the victim was poisoned by someone in their entourage.
“We need to find out the motive,” he said.
“This is what we can prove now that they did not die by suicide but because they were killed by someone else.”
