Trump’s Electability is Far Superior to Biden’s After The Shooting Incident

ENTRE NewsThe electability of Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for president of the United States, skyrocketed after he was the target of a shooting during a campaign in Pennsylvania on Saturday (13/7). A Reuters/Ipsos survey conducted on July 16 showed Trump ahead of his rival, incumbent President Joe Biden, with 43 percent. Meanwhile, Biden got 41 percent.

Reuters/Ipsos conducted a survey of 992 US citizens on July 16, three days after the attempted assassination of Trump. This survey has a Margin of Error (MoE) of ±3.3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.

The AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey conducted on July 11-15 also showed Trump was above Biden with 42 percent of the public believing that he was able to win the presidential election on November 5. Biden only has 18 percent public confidence regarding his potential victory.

This survey of 1,253 US citizens also showed that 38 percent of the public believed Trump was better able to overcome the crisis than Biden. Biden only got 28 percent on this. Before the incident, Trump’s electability was actually above Biden’s, with the average survey showing him winning by a narrow two percent. However, at that time the Republican vote was still divided.

After the national convention on July 15, the Republican Party finally agreed and nominated Trump as their presidential candidate. The United States presidential election will be held on November 5. Trump will be accompanied by JD Vance as his vice presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has yet to announce their presidential candidate. The new Democrats will hold a national convention on August 19. They will announce the official presidential and vice presidential candidates on that occasion.
