ENTRE News – The United States Navy sent the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) to the Middle East to assist Israel in preparing for an Iranian attack. The Pentagon confirmed that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln replaced the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) which was serving in another command area.
“To maintain a carrier strike group presence in the Middle East, the ministry has ordered the Lincoln Carrier to replace the Theodore Roosevelt, which is currently stationed in the Central Command area of responsibility,” the Pentagon statement said.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also ordered additional ships in the form of cruisers and destroyers capable of ballistic missile defense. Both types of ships were ordered from the US European Command and US Central Command areas. Austin is also preparing further steps to increase US military readiness, especially in deploying land-based ballistic missiles.
“The Ministry is also taking steps to increase our readiness to deploy additional land-based ballistic missile defenses,” Austin said.
The delivery of the aircraft carrier was carried out in order to increase the US military presence in the Middle East area. The reason is, the region is heating up after the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.
The death of Ismail Haniyeh who was killed by Israel sparked the Iranian military and its allies in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen to prepare for retaliation. The Middle Eastern countries reportedly met to discuss resistance to Israel.
Meanwhile, intelligence sources revealed that the Iranian attack would be carried out on a Jewish holiday to target the psychological and emotional impact on Israeli citizens. During this day of mourning, the Jewish people are said to be more fragile, thereby adding to their psychological suffering if Iran launches an attack.
Iran’s attack on Tisha B’Av is also said to be a symbolic reason for Tehran to revive the trauma of the image of destruction. Finally, Iran allegedly targeted the attack to bring an element of surprise to Israel. Moreover, Tehran believes that Israel’s security will be careless because it focuses on commemorating this Jewish holiday.
