ENTRE News – Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) invited 300 units of Omoda E5 electric cars owned by consumers to check the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) feature. Reza Deniar, Head of After Sales at CSI, explained that the invitation would be distributed to all Omoda E5 users and they were expected to take the car to the nearest dealer.
“In the near future we will invite those who have delivered to come to the dealer to check the serial number. This is for later, then we will update the Carlinko application,” he said.
Chery has just launched a car priced at almost IDR 500 million, the Omoda E5, in early February 2024. After just a month on sale, 300 units of this car have already been sent to consumers. Reza explained that the consumer car inspection process is free. This application update is said to be a feature update so that the car can connect to the application on the user’s device.
“Interestingly, with this process of calling customers with this campaign, we also have free inspections, so customers can be more comfortable with their vehicles,” he said.
Reza explained that the process of calling the Omoda E5 did not take long because it only scanned the barcode on the Tbox or transmitter box which was located under the front passenger seat.
“This is a transmission or transfer of data from the car and to the application. Well, there are (features) for performance or features in the car, such as turning the car on and off and lowering the cabin temperature,” he said.
The Carlinko application has a feature that connects to the call center. Its function is so that Omoda E5 users can quickly get assistance services if there are problems while traveling. Reza said he didn’t have time to update the feature before delivery because there was still a process at the Directorate General of Post and Information Resources and Equipment, Ministry of Communication and Information regarding permits to operate electronic devices.
“When it comes to IOV FOR4D, we registered the postal (postal and telecommunications) permit last month with Kominfo, it has been processed recently, but if it’s an invitation, that’s normal. We just want to know the serial number,” he said.
“No, this is not a recall. If it were a recall there would definitely be a defect, this isn’t the case, but it’s just that we want to see the serial number,” he continued.
