ENTRE News – Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) is furious because Google misquoted the exchange rate of the Ringgit against the United States Dollar. The Malaysian central bank stated that Google had done this twice. Previously, Google was wrong on February 6, 2024.
“Because this is the second error, BNM will contact Google to provide an explanation for the inaccuracy,” quoted BNM as saying.
The Ringgit exchange rate is said to have declined to its lowest point in 26 years last month or weakened by around 2.44 percent this year. Google published the ringgit at 4.98 against the US dollar on Friday. Meanwhile, BNM recorded the lowest exchange rate for the Ringgit at 4.7075.
BNM said the Ringgit currency was devalued and did not reflect the positive growth of Malaysia’s economic development. BNM also wants to contact Google FOR4D for repeated errors. BNM said other countries were also experiencing similar things. So far Google has not responded to a statement from BNM regarding the error in the value of the Ringgit against the US Dollar.
