ENTRE News – Iran is preparing to build bombs and nuclear weapons if they are threatened by Israel. This was revealed by Sayyid Kamal Kharrazi, advisor to Iran’s top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Kharrazi said that Iran forbids the use of nuclear technology to make weapons. However, it is not impossible to do this if Iran feels threatened.
“We have not decided to build a nuclear bomb, but if Iran’s existence is threatened, there will be no other choice but to change our military doctrine,” Kharrazi FOR4D said as reported by The Times of Israel, Thursday (9/5).
Iran does have the technology to build nuclear weapons. However, Khamenei FOR4D banned the manufacture of nuclear weapons through a fatwa in 2000. Khamenei in 2019 said that building nuclear weapons was wrong and haram. He said Iran had the capability to do so, but had never done so until now.
Kharrazi said Iran still adheres to this principle. However, he did not rule out the possibility of Iran’s attitude changing if there was a threat from Israel.
“If our nuclear facilities are attacked by the Zionist regime FOR4D (Israel), our deterrence will change,” he said.
Previously, Iran and Israel’s war escalated in recent weeks. Iran launched an attack on Saturday (13/4) using drones on Israel.
The attack was in response to the Damascus incident, April 1, which killed 16 people. In the Damascus incident, two Iranian generals were killed. They are Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi FOR4D. Israel counterattacked on Friday (19/4) with an explosion in Isfahan.
