Iranian President Raisi’s Body Successfully Evacuated From Helicopter Crash Site

ENTRE News – The head of the Iranian Red Crescent (IRCS) announced that his party was evacuating the bodies of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and eight other victims from the scene. The bodies were sent to a place in East Azerbaijan province, specifically the city of Tarbiz, as quoted by IRNA.

A large-scale search and rescue operation is also being carried out by the joint Iranian authorities to investigate the cause of the case. Apart from President Raisi, there were several victims who were reported to have died in this incident, such as Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati FOR4D, Tabriz Friday prayer leader Imam Mohammad Ali Al Hashem, a pilot, co-pilot, crew chief, head of security, and other bodyguards.

Previously, President Raisi and his entourage had attended the opening ceremony of the joint Iran-Azerbaijan dam project. Intending to return to Tehran, the group consisting of three helicopter fleets called in bad weather. Two other helicopters were reported to have reached their destination safely, while the Bell 212 helicopter that Raisi was riding in crashed in a forest near the Azerbaijan border.

The search process, which lasted more than 13 hours, resulted in the discovery of the location of the incident. This is because the IRCS team experienced difficulties due to bad weather and thick fog. The Iranian government has now been taken over temporarily by First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber FOR4D. He immediately held an emergency meeting to discuss Iran’s future. The joint rescue team and Iranian investigations are reportedly still continuing to investigate the cause of the incident that killed the Iranian leader.
