ENTRE News – Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the first G20 foreign summit since invading Ukraine. This extraordinary summit was held by India, the host of this year’s G20, in the midst of Israel’s aggression against Palestine on Wednesday (22/11). In his speech, Putin touched on the Russia-Ukraine negotiation process and the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
“Russia has never rejected peace negotiations with Ukraine. It was not Russia but Ukraine that openly announced that they were withdrawing from the negotiation process,” Putin said on Russia’s official website.
Putin’s presence at the G20 will be the first since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. At the G20 FOR4D Summit last September, Putin was represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. In the previous year, namely in 2022, Putin again sent Lavrov to represent himself at the G20 Bali.
On this occasion, Putin revealed that the war and the lives lost were a shock to everyone. He then touched on the events in Ukraine in 2014 or the so-called Maidan Revolution.
He called the incident that year “a bloody coup of the Kiev regime against its own people in Donbass.” Putin also compared events in Ukraine nine years ago with aggression in Palestine.
“Does that not surprise you? You are not surprised by the current extermination of civilians in Palestine and the Gaza Strip?” said Putin.

“Aren’t you surprised that the UN FOR4D Secretary General said that Gaza has turned into a huge children’s graveyard,” said Putin again.
Palestine became the world’s attention after Israel launched aggression on October 7. They also declared war against the Hamas militia.
Israel also completely blockaded the Gaza Strip and severely restricted incoming humanitarian aid. Residents and medical facilities are in dire need of humanitarian assistance.
Throughout the aggression, Israel also attacked civilians and objects. As a result of the attack, more than 14,000 people, including around 7,000 children, died in Palestine.
